About

CS4FN logo

At CS4FN (Computer Science for Fun) we write fun and engaging articles on just about every topic to do with computer science. All of our articles are published here as blog posts and every so often we gather some together, add some new ones, and publish them all together in a printed magazine which we send free to subscribing UK schools and home educators (use the green form). If you’re not in the UK all of our free CS4FN material can be downloaded as PDFs. Our older articles (which we are in the process of transferring here) can be found on our archive site: www.cs4fn.org

One way of getting a sense of the scope of the CS4FN project is to enter our site via our themed portals page, where you can find out all about “Computing and…” – how computer science intersects with other topics (and school subjects) and how computing is now a part of almost every activity that people do. There’s Computer Science at the Movies, or Computer Science in Space, or you can find out about Diversity in Computing and even how the Victorians were involved in computational work.

You can download all of our free CS4FN magazines, posters and booklets from our dedicated download site.

If you are younger or like things in little bits, try A Bit of CS4FN

If you are a teacher you can find lots of activities and resources to use in class at our teacher resource site Teaching London Computing.

CS4FN was created in 2005 by Paul Curzon and Peter McOwan of Queen Mary University of London. It has been funded from very many sources over the years but EPSRC deserve a special mention.
